The client. Phunjo Jhangmu Lama is a Nepali mountaineer and Guinness World Records holder. On 23 May 2024 she reached the summit of Everest in 14 hours 31 minutes, the fastest ascent by a woman. She is Nepal's first female helicopter long-line rescue climber, and climbed Cho Oyu without supplementary oxygen. In 2019 she turned back from K2's Bottleneck, at about 8,200 m, in severe weather. She is now preparing to return in 2027.
The challenge. An expedition like K2 needs serious funding and brand partners. Her record was already world class; what she needed was a clear way to present it, and a plan she and her helpers could run themselves.
